About Dr Anton Alexandroff

Dr Anton Alexandroff is a leading Consultant in the Cambridge Dermatology Clinic.  He is an expert Consultant Dermatologist, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers, sun damaged skin and pre-cancerous skin conditions such as actinic keratoses, basal cell carcinomas and melanomas. He has wide experience in the management of inflammatory skin diseases (psoriasis, dermatitis, acne, urticaria and rosacea) with novel treatments including biologics. Dr Alexandroff uses dermoscopy to improve the diagnosis of benign and suspicious skin lesions, such as seborrheic keratoses and skin cancers. He has a special interest in the diagnosis and management of various types of hair loss, including alopecia areata and provides injection treatment, as well as Diphencyprone immunotherapy for alopecia areata. He also has extensive experience in the treatment of viral warts and verrucas with cryotherapy and immunotherapy.

Dr Alexandroff has worked in the UK since 1999 at major teaching hospitals in Cambridge, Newcastle, Nottingham and Leicester and he is currently an Honorary Senior Lecturer at De Montfort University, Leicester. He has worked as a substantive NHS Consultant Dermatologist in University Hospitals for seven years, during which time he led the phototherapy service, regional alopecia service and co-led the supra-regional Dermato-Oncology Service and East Midlands Clinical Research Network. He published extensively during his work as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the University of Edinburgh.

Dr Alexandroff has lectured at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, on the IQ Vantage course for dermatology and rheumatology, at the East Midlands Medical Education Cross Specialty IMID meeting, keynote conferences, GP training courses and GP Masterclasses. He has published chapters in a number of medical and dermatology textbooks, including ‘Cancer Vaccines and Immunotherapy’ and he regularly advises for the BBC Radio, television and press on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of various skin conditions. He is the Spokesperson for the British Skin Foundation and is the media spokesperson for the British Association of Dermatologists.
