About Ms Maharukh Daruwalla

Ms Maharukh Daruwalla MBBS, MS, MCh is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with extensive experience in skin cancer surgery, reconstructive surgery and complex wound management.

She holds a substantive Consultant position at East and North Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and currently serves as the Trust’s Skin Cancer Lead. In this role, she chairs the specialist multidisciplinary team responsible for managing complex skin cancer cases across the region.

Ms Daruwalla trained and worked in leading centres of excellence both in the UK and internationally and has extensive experience across the full spectrum of plastic and reconstructive surgery. She has particular expertise in skin cancer surgery, oncological dissections and complex reconstruction, with a strong focus on achieving the best possible functional and aesthetic outcomes.

Patients value her calm, approachable manner and her commitment to clear communication. She takes time to explain diagnoses, treatment options and expected outcomes in detail, helping patients make informed decisions and feel supported throughout their care.

Alongside her clinical practice, Ms Daruwalla has held several national leadership roles, including Specialist Clinical Advisor to the Care Quality Commission, Clinical Lead for Hertfordshire & West Essex ICB and peer reviewer for the National Cancer Peer Review Programme. She is also an elected member of the British Medical Association Consultant Committee and plays an active role in medical education, training and service development.
